Apenas hace unos momentos leía en el periodico de que una vez más Apple desafiaba a la conpetencia al colocar en el mercado su nueva computadora portatil, la MacBook Air (una verdadera chingonería), y revisando mi correo me encontré ya con el enlace gringo de esta.

Las becas de Eufrosina.

Con atención veía y escuchaba la entrevista que Sergio Sarmiento le realizaba a la Contadora Eufrosina Cruz, candidata a la presidencia municipal de su municipio en una de las comunidades de Oaxaca y a la que por ser mujer, le fueron anulados sus votos.

La vida de Eufrosina ha sido un verdadero drama y como otros tantos casos, un verdadero ejemplo de lucha y superación. Su vida estuvo llena de carencias y necesidades pero aunado a esto, los usos y costumbres de su región que por el hecho de ser mujer las han mantenido marginadas al grado de no tomarlas en cuenta en ningún sentido por años y años.

Una mujer sumamente modesta de la que por demás esta mencionar todo lo que ha pasado y ni que decir en que forma se ha superado. Poco a poco se fue superando y se fue involucrando en su comunidad para ser aceptada en lugares que solo a hombres le correspondían. Eufrosina siempre estuvo becado por su excelente aprovechamiento escolar y en parte, desde luego esas becas le ayudaron a seguir estudiando hasta titularse pero, … ¿ y la misión que ella tiene?

Las becas fueron un medio para llegar hasta donde esta pero ahora, no la dejan no tan solo no culminar sino avanzar, en lo que ella quiere y que es solo ayudar a las mujeres de su comunidad para que tengan mejores condiciones de vida. Mujeres a las que por tabaco o gallinas las casan desde edades como la de su hermana que a los 12 ya estaba casada o en donde simplemente no son tomadas en cuenta.

¿Nuestras autoridades y organismos involucrados? Bien gracias. Da la impresión de que poco importa el tema, tanto de la anulación de los votos por cacicazgo e intereses políticos (y no necesariamente por el argumento de los usos y costumbres) como peor aún, las condiciones en que viven miles de mujeres en nuestros pueblos indígenas. Las respuestas han sido apáticas y gracias a los medios es que algo se ha escuchado del tema.

Es paradójico que mientras se anuncian las becas (paupérrimas, por cierto) que nuestro gobierno otorga en aras de un mayor conocimiento y desarrollo, no se tenga en cuenta que…estas son el medio para llegar quizás a la misión que muchos podemos tener como el caso de Eufrosina Cruz.

¿Es posible que podamos estar discutiendo estos temas que suceden en México con tal apatía en estos tiempos?... Me temo que la respuesta es sí.
